Less Social Media, More Meaningful Connection
This summer, I experimented with stepping back from social media. I rarely posted beyond Substack and my continued focus on these weekly newsletters to you. I slowed down my pressures for public output. I engaged in what really nourishes connection, which meant some good community growth both in launching The Grove, as well as in my local city. I shifted that lost time and energy to creating more practices and resources to share with you.
I read Careless People, a memoir from an insider who helped build Facebook into the dangerous connector it is today. It all helped me gain clarity on how I want to use my time and energy to nourish connections, so I will continue to engage with social media intentionally, but at arm's length.
That means two things for us here.
First, help me reach other folks with whom my work and words may resonate with. Your newsletter forwards, testimonials, and workshop shares mean the world to me. It’s the future of my work and what we build together.
Second, I want this Awakening Resilience newsletter to be more than updates and tips I think might be helpful. (Those of you who already filled out my reader survey, thank you. If you haven’t yet, here’s the link.) I want this to be a space where we explore resilience together through uncertain times, where your questions guide our conversations over these next months and year.
To that end, we’re going to do an AMA (Ask Me Anything).
About me:
For over two decades, I’ve worked with professionals, leaders, and organizations to build resilience, navigate career transitions, and embrace change with an international focus. For a lot of those years, that work took place within leadership graduate programs as a scholar of organizations. In my own career pivot, I rooted into how I’ve lived these challenges myself.
Deinstitutionalizing my professional identity and career, confronting grief, and learning how to slow down without losing impact, all showed me how to help others reconnect within, to their body, Nature, and community. Outside of my career, I’ve deep dived into climate work, early menopause, and the flip from divorce and solo parenting to midlife marriage and blended families. All the grief and love, my friends! I bring these lessons of pathways to thrive and stay grounded in your own self-sovereignty through major transitions, all the while strengthening your resilience and finding clarity in your next embodied action steps.
My work is to help folks access their own strength and wisdom, align with their values and impact, and move forward with clarity and confidence while having mentorship and a community of caring others.
Here’s where you come in: I want to hear from you.
What are your pressing questions about resilience, career pivots, or navigating any of life’s many other challenges?
What struggles or curiosities keep you up at night?
If I had a magic wand, what would you want me to change for you?
Or anything else…
Hit reply and ask me anything. Your question might be featured in a future newsletter, and it will help me make this space more meaningful, relevant, and supportive for you and our community.
Let’s make this our conversation. I’m excited to hear what’s on your mind.
