More Hell Yes Moments

What keeps you from feeling more “Hell Yes” moments and choosing embodied action steps to support those?

I want you to have more ‘yes’ in your life! And saying ‘yes’ may sound counter to my normal message of ‘no’ is a boundary and the path out of overing. But hear me out.

The ‘yes’ I’m talking about comes with being intentional about what brings you joy and nudges you towards value-aligned living and working.

This requires more ‘no’s’ to other people's demands, wants, and expectations. A shift out of people-pleasing and not knowing what you want into fully embodied knowing (you can feel that knowing in your body) that you deserve to live your life for you.

When you’ve spent much of your life living other people's wants and expectations, it can be challenging at first to know what you truly want. I know this very well - a younger me would be paralyzed even with having to make a decision about dinner plans. I wouldn’t have been able to answer with what I truly desired to eat versus what choice would make others happy. It’s similar to putting everyone else’s needs ahead of your own. This comes up often as it may feel selfish to invest in your own personal development.

Anyone else resonate with that? If I asked you right now to make a list of 20 things you desire…could you? Try it. Start every sentence with “I want…” or “I desire…”

At the beginning of learning how to reconnect your body back in alignment with your mind and emotions, you may not even know what your embodied YES is. But here’s what I know from my years of learning this for myself and guiding others on this journey: you can learn how to tap into what you want to feel in your day-to-day life and work. And when you do, this embodied practice makes it easier to follow your body’s felt sensations and connect that with your true desire.

It’s practice. As I said the other day, you can’t think your way back home into your body.

It can be scary when you first start the journey of embodiment because you may notice discomfort, awkwardness, emotions, and stories or memories. Because I believe so much that our bodies are the pathway to freedom and living a life full of impact, I revised my signature group coaching program, Reclaim You, to more intentionally scaffolded somatic psychology and embodiment practices so that you can:

  • Grow your awareness of how your body responds to external environments, habits and patterns, sensations and memories. Then you decide how to use this deep knowing and data to shift mindsets and behaviors of your choosing.

  • Build your resourcing skills for regenerative well-being, empowerment, and transformation.

  • Learn to listen to your body as the best source of wisdom and answers.

  • Set embodied boundaries that you feel and sense so that you can shift out of the shoulds. Embodied boundaries that are self-full not selfish.

Embodied practice helps you identify what brings you joy and grounds you. You build skills that allow you to pause, listen to your body’s innate wisdom, and make decisions that are right aligned.

Karley who participated in a previous Reclaim You cohort, said: "Reclaim You helped me shake frustrating things off more easily and feel more yes throughout my day through music."

Her biggest takeaway: “I’m seeking more opportunities to feel ‘yes’ in my body and learning how that can drive my choices in my work and outside of work.”

Where in your life do you desire to incorporate more body so that you feel into your mind-body connection?

Because so many of us are trained to be talking heads, this is also why we do embodied work together in Reclaim You - guided 1:1 and also held in a group community. Together we learn to create space and hold feelings as signals or signs that there’s something stuck that needs nudging. As a former talking head academic who was woefully disconnected from my body, I offer a pathway to help you invite your awareness back into your body with ease and support.
